MARK PRICHETT

While touring Brittany in France in autumn 2010, I stumbled onto two galleries devoted to fused glass creations.  I was amazed by the range of color, of shape, of expression.  I was intrigued and thought that maybe glass fusion would be a medium that an old guy who had never attempted artistic expression might experiment with and hopefully discover some hidden bit of talent.

The challenge of the glass medium, how to use color and shape to create interest, how to use the heat of the kiln to broaden impact, finding a creative niche and at the same time remain receptive to multiple avenues of expression is keeping me off-center and driving my interest. Where all of this is going is of less concern than just going.
